Galerie Sophia Vonier
Johanna Binder
[Toposphere] denotes the sphere of words, the descriptive recording of nature and its representation as a transference of anthropocentric ideas.
Binder contrasts the romantic understanding of nature as a retreat from society and the utopia of the union of man and nature with the antonym of overformed nature. Nature becomes an artifact and an exaggerated representation of itself, deprived of its texture as a mirage that satisfies the curiosity of those seeking nature.
