Wang Yun´s intercultural in-between-ness and as-well-as somehow reflects a kind of connectedness across real or only imagined borders. All and everyone might be related as well as intertwined – a higher connectedness that starts with the entangled the nature of quantum particles, concerns the human beings, and finally encompasses our as well as nature´s relationship with the whole universe. (Alice Schmatzberger)
Wang Yun *1982 lives and works in Vienna studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (class of Daniel Richter)
A passion for art and a lively collecting activity form the basis for the program of the Konzett Gallery. In addition to a comprehensive collection of ethnographic art, the focus was initially on Viennese Actionism. The Konzett Collection, which extensively covers the work of Günter Brus, Otto Muehl, Hermann Nitsch and Rudolf Schwarzkogler, is one of the most important internationally in this field. Trough its expansion and positioning in the international art-historical context, works of earlier and simultaneous performative tendencies as well as subsequent related currents and contemporary perspectives are included. The gallery’s exhibition program follows this strategy with the aim of placing the collection in context with contemporary artistic positions.
